Tuition

SIL's approach to tuition reflects the personalized nature of our program. Because no two students require the same number of instructional hours to complete a semester, we bill by the hour. SIL is the only 1:1 school in the Bay Area with no minimum hourly requirements for course completion. Our approach allows you to pay for only the instruction you need. Our hourly rates reflect the cost of retaining instructors whose average tenure is at 8 years and counting. Since every student is different, tuition fees will vary per semester.

Most classes at our school are one-to-one, but we are happy to work with students in small groups at a lower rate per student.  In general, group classes are possible when students come to us with a friend or classmate wishing to take the same course. The coordination of group classes with students who are not already seeking to take the course together is rarely feasible due to our rolling admissions and constantly changing schedules which accommodate schedule flexibility. In addition to one-to-one and occasional group classes throughout the year, we also offer for-credit and enrichment courses at a set price over each summer. These are constantly evolving based on student interests and needs.

We charge $145 per hour for each hour of in-class for-credit instruction and $130 per hour for each hour of in-class tutoring instruction. Our group class rate is $90 per student.
