Graduation Requirements
To graduate from SIL, you must complete the following 210 credits of coursework:
- History & Social Science :: 6 semesters, including 2 semesters of U.S History, 2 semesters of World History, 1 semester of Government, and 1 semester of Economics.
- English :: 8 semesters.
- Mathematics :: 4 semesters, including Algebra 1.
- Laboratory Science :: 4 semesters, including Biology and Chemistry OR Physics.
- Language Other Than English :: 2 semesters, OR 2 (continuous) semesters of a visual-and-performing-arts course.
- Visual & Performing Arts :: 2 semesters, OR 2 semesters of a language-other-than-English course.
- Physical Education :: 4 semesters.
- Electives :: 14 semesters.
5 Credits = 1 Semester, 10 Credits = 2 Semesters
UC & CSU Admissions Requirements
To enter the UC or CSU system as a freshman, you must complete the following UC-approved coursework:
- History & Social Science :: 4 semesters, including 2 semesters of U.S History OR 1 semester of U.S. History and 1 semester of Government, 2 semesters of World History.
- English :: 8 semesters.
- Mathematics :: 6 semesters, including Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. While only 6 semesters are required, 8 semesters are recommended.
- Laboratory Science :: 4 semesters, including Biology, Chemistry OR Physics. While only 4 semesters are required, 6 semesters are recommended.
- Language Other Than English :: 4 semesters, of the same language. While only 4 semesters are required, 6 semesters, of the same language, are recommended.
- Visual & Performing Arts :: 2 (continuous) semesters; that is, two semesters of a single year-long course.
- Electives :: 2 semesters.
