Online Distance Learning
From San Diego to Arcata, students anywhere in California may participate in our tradition of one-to-one learning. Using videoconferencing and digital dry-erase boards, students and teachers connect online, one-to-one, in real-time.
What independent study courses lack, we have. Students in our online distance-learning program use Skype to speak with--and see--their teachers. Each instructor is equipped with a digital dry-erase board, and anything drawn on the board instantly appears on the student's computer screen.
Students complete homework, compose essays, and take tests using Google Documents, Google's free online word-processing software. Google Documents are collaborative, which means that anyone who receives an invitation is able to view and edit a document, from any computer. As a result, teachers and parents are able to view a student's academic progress in real-time, as each assignment is completed.
Our online program is much more than a solution for faraway students. Students who live in the Bay Area, who primarily attend class at our Los Altos campus, may schedule online lessons when vacationing, lacking transportation, experiencing health issues, or accommodating a busy schedule.
Students schedule online videoconference classes at their convenience, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. From start to finish, our one-to-one online courses progress at each student's best pace.
