School for Independent Learners (SIL) has established a credit-transfer agreement with the Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA), located in Mountain View across from the San Antonio Caltrain stop. CSMA is Silicon Valley's preeminent community school of the arts, and is a ten-minute walk from SIL.
By attending classes at CSMA, middle and high school students can earn UC-approved college-prep, honors, and Advanced Placement credit, transferable from SIL to other high schools and applied towards college admissions.
This past fall of 2012-2013, CSMA and SIL partnered to offer an AP Music Theory group course, and eleven students are finding success well into the second semester as they prepare for the AP exam in May.
